Hi, I’m Ellen
I’m a Kensington local, mum to three young kids and your Greens MP for Melbourne.

Before I entered Victorian Parliament, I was the CEO of a national climate change non-profit organisation. My training as a scientist, and having grown up in country Victoria during the drought, gave me a determination to do all I could to help tackle the climate crisis.
Now I’m fighting for action on climate change, housing affordability, a fairer society and a more liveable Melbourne inside the Victorian Parliament.
Bold, hopeful progressive movements are the antidote to the frustration, hopelessness and political disillusionment people are feeling.
Lately, I’ve been talking to a lot of people. Renters in my neighbourhood, teachers at my kids’ school, parents at kinder drop-off, local shop owners – and they’re all telling me a version of the same story. No matter how hard they work, it feels harder and harder to get ahead.
Right now, housing is unaffordable. Rents keep rising. Groceries, healthcare and energy bills cost more every month. We’re paying more for everything but big corporations are making record profits. Something doesn’t add up.
Labor, the Liberals and One Nation all take millions in donations from big corporations and billionaires, and give them special treatment. They work for them. The Greens are fighting for you.
The Greens don’t take big corporate donations and never will. We’re the only party that has the guts to make the big banks, gambling and gas corporations pay their fair share to fund the things we all need for a better life.
If you’re fed up with the major parties and want a better life, demand better. Vote Greens.

The Greens track record
In the balance of power in parliament the Greens have secured:
$60 million to protect nature and get homes and businesses off gas
Renting reforms including banning no grounds evictions and rental bidding
5000 more empty homes available by making the tax on empty homes stronger
$150 million for bike lanes and pedestrian safety
Proudly supported the first Treaty in Australia
Stopped the renewal of the MoU with Israeli Ministry of Defence
Imagine what we could do with more power after the next election.
